In order to clarify the regional ‘Sansheng' functional structural characteristics and spatial evolution patterns, realize refined regional management of land space, promote ‘Sansheng' functional collaboration and the sustainable development of land space, based on the multi-functionality of land use, the research quantitatively identified the characteristics of the ‘Sansheng' function evolution in Jiangjin District of Chongqing in 2009 and 2017 through the GIS spatial visualization method and summarized the pattern and optimization strategy of ‘Sansheng' function change in Jiangjin District. The results show that the function of ‘Sansheng' in Jiangjin District nearly doubled from 2009 to 2017, with production functions and life functions as the main functions; production functions with the industrial supply function as the main trend showed a significant expansion, and life functions with the social security function as the gathering area around the two core clusters had expanded significantly, and the overall ecological function had not changed significantly; the ‘Sansheng' function change pattern in Jiangjin District could be divided into six types: high hill and overall function enhancement, low hill and production-life enhancement, high hill and ecological enhancement, medial hill and ecological enhancement, medial hill and production-life weakening, low hill and ecological weakening. In general, due to economic construction and human disturbance, the ‘Sansheng' function in Jiangjin District was obviously unbalanced. The northern and central regions had developed rapidly and have great potential, and the production and living functions had been significantly enhanced, while the south had been relatively slow with the appearances of sporadic ‘Sansheng' function enhancements.
