- In order to analyze the degree of coupling and coordination between the intensive use of urban land and the construction of ecological civilization in Guangxi and its spatiotemporal law, we took Guangxi as the research sample, TOPSIS model was used to evaluate the relationship between the two from 2008 to 2017, and coupling coordination model was used to measure their coupling coordination level. The results show that:(1)a fluctuating upward trend was shown in the comprehensive scores of urban land intensive use and ecological civilization construction with obvious differences among cities;(2)the coupling degrees of cities was mainly moderate coordination changing from low-level coordination to medium-highly coordinated development, with the characteristics of spatial evolution from sheet distribution to linear arrangement;(3)the intensive use of urban land and the construction of ecological civilization in the cities of Guangxi, in which the differences between the two subsystems were gradually narrowing, were mainly the synchronous development type;(4)the coordination showed a somewhat similar random distribution state, the spatial agglomeration effect was weakening, and the spatial differentiation become more prominent, Guilin City and Wuzhou City became the wings of regional polarization. Collaborative promotion of urban land intensive use and natural ecological restoration are important ways to achieve high-level coupling and coordinated development of urban land intensive use and ecological civilization construction in Guangxi.
