In order to empirically explore the relationship between urban resilience and urbanization level in the urban agglomeration of Yangtze River Delta, a comprehensive evaluation index system was constructed based on urban resilience and urbanization level, then the entropy method was used to measure the trend of urban resilience and urbanization level. Based on the coupling coordination degree model and the spatial autocorrelation model, the temporal and spatial variation characteristics and spatial distribution types of the coupling coordination degree of 26 cities were analyzed. We found that:(1)the coupling degree of urban resilience and urbanization level of the Yangtze River Delta presented the rise from 2007 to 2016, and the coordination degree was lower than the coupling degree;(2)the coupling coordination degree presented the pattern of ‘high level in the east and low level in the west, high level in the middle and low level in the edge', and the coordinated urban growth was obvious, changed from three-point distribution into Z-shaped distribution from 2007 to 2016;(3)Moran's I index indicated that the coupled coordination distribution of the urban agglomeration of Yangtze River Delta had obvious spatial agglomeration effect, therefore, the Moran scatter plot could be used to classify cities into ‘high-high, low-high, low-low, low-high'types. The regional disparities of resilience and urbanization levels in the urban agglomeration of Yangtze River Delta are significant nowadays, and narrowing the regional gap will become the focus in the future.
