- 台湾人口急增，而耕地扩展极难，对土地利用压力日大、唯有依其地理条件适地适种、集约经营、经济而合理的利用土地方能由收增产之效。作者本此对台中盆地地理条件、搜集资料、田野工作试规划其农业区，期供本区农业发展之参考。全文论述了影响合中盆地农业发展之地理条件；（位置、地形、气候、土壤）台中盆地耕地之利用；台中盆地农业区域之划分：（1）水田为主的盆底平原区；（2）丘陵平原间旱作发达区；（3）大肚及八卦两台地农林边际。
- Abstract:
- The Taichung basin is situated in the west central coastal plains of Taiwan province, between Tatu and the Pa-Kua plateau and the Mountain region off Hung-Yen.The temperate cllimate, fertile soil amd good drainage system, enable crops to grow all year round.In fact, it is the center of agricultural development in Taiwan.The basin is densely populated and thus is using its agricultural land very economically.Companion cropping systems, "Catch cropping" and "Fu-Tze" cropping system are often practiced in this basin.
