[Objective] This study aims to investigate the effects of indicator system construction and different spatial resolutions on the evaluation of Benggang susceptibility, thereby providing references for selecting appropriate grid cell resolutions to assess Benggang susceptibility in southern Jiangxi. [Methods] Taking Ruijin County as the study area, an evaluation indicator system was developed using subjective and objective weighting methods(Analytic Hierarchy Process and Geodetector). 13 spatial resolutions of grid cells(20 m, 30 m, 40 m, 50 m, 60 m, 70 m, 80 m, 90 m, 100 m, 200 m, 300 m, 400 m, 500 m) were selected, and the Random Forest model was employed for the evaluation of Benggang susceptibility. [Results](1) The key evaluation indicators affecting Benggang susceptibility in Ruijin County were ranked by importance as: rainfall erosivity(GZR), slope, precipitation(Prec), leaf area index(LAI), fractional vegetation cover(FVCx), soil erodibility(GZK), slope length and steepness factor (LS-factor), color index (CI), and modified soil-adjusted vegetation index (MSAVI);(2) The model achieved the best prediction performance at the grid cell size of 20 m(AUC = 0.88), with AUC values exhibiting a fluctuating declining trend as the spatial resolution decreased;(3) The high and relatively high susceptibility zones in Ruijin County were mainly distributed in Shazhouba, Yunshishan, Wantian, Huangbai, Jiubao, Yeaping, Xiefang, and Wuyang townships. [Conclusion] The most influential indicator factor for Benggang occurrence is rainfall erosivity. Among the 13 tested spatial resolutions, the grid cell size of 20 m shows the best model prediction performance.
