To identify the key factors influencing the suitable model of comprehensive soil erosion control and to carry out targeted comprehensive control of water and soil loss in different regions, the natural environment and socio-economic conditions affecting the selection of soil and water loss control model were simultaneously considered, and the study on the suitability evaluation of the comprehensive management model of soil and water loss in southern Jiangxi based on the balance between ecological and production functions was carried out by using the methods of expert scoring, analytic hierarchy process, fuzzy mathematics and spatial analysis. The results were as follows. The evaluation index system of regional comprehensive control mode of soil and water loss composed of 22 evaluation indexes was constructed. 18 counties(cities and districts)in southern Jiangxi were successfully divided into three types of suitable areas for comprehensive control mode of soil and water loss: tending to ecological protection type, tending to efficiency development type, and type with ecological protection and high-efficiency development both suitable, and targeted countermeasures and suggestions for regional comprehensive control were finally put forward. The current situation of soil erosion, main functional area orientation, ability of local soil and water loss control, topography and agricultural population were the key factors affecting the suitability of the comprehensive control model of ecological protection soil and water loss. The current situation of regional development and utilization, soil fertility, regional convenience, terrain, agricultural population and agricultural development were the key factors affecting the suitability of efficient soil and water loss control model. By weighing the ecological and production functions, the key influencing factors of the comprehensive control model of soil and water loss can be selected, and the suitable control model in each administrative region can be identified, which can provide scientific basis for targeted soil and water loss.
