Rainfall erosivity is an index of erosion ability of rain water. Using the daily rainfall data of twenty-five meteorological sites in Weihe River, we estimated the rainfall erosivity and analyzed its spatiotemporal variability. The results showed that the spatial characteristic of rainfall erosivity was consistent with the spatial distribution of rainfall, declining from southeast to northwest and varying from 1 000 to 3 600 MJ·mm/(hm2·h·a). The distribution of rainfall erosivity is unimodal, the max value occurred in August, the minimum was observed in January and rainfall erosivity from June to September occupied about 70% of the whole year. The inter-annual variation was significant and coefficient of variation was between 0.4 and 0.54. Especially random fluctuations and a decreasing trend had been showed since the 1980s, but there was no significant trends of variation totally.
