With regard to the problems of vegetation restoration in poor natural conditions region, and the connotation of sustainable development, we systematically introduced the application of self-pressure sprinkler irrigation technology using in the alpine grassland. The fenced-irrigated grassland was compared to the free grazing grassland and fenced grassland respectively to analyze the primary productivity. The results showed that the plant height of fenced-irrigated grassland was 155.77% higher than that in the free grazing grassland, and 76.71% more than that in the fenced grassland; the coverage of fenced-irrigated grassland was 152.69% higher than the free grazing grassland, and 35.96% more than the fenced grassland. It indicated that the self-pressure sprinkler irrigation technology had the demonstration and promotion potential in the restoration of grassland vegetation, and provided a new way for the sustainable development of animal husbandry in Tibet.
