Study on the variation characteristics of regional different gradient zones of land-use landscape aimed at providing a scientific basis for the maintenance of regional ecological function and the improvement of regional ecological environment quality. The typical area of Songnen High Plain—Bayan County was selected as the study area,by means of ArcGIS, using the topography (elevation, slope) as the study area gradient classification standard at the same time considering geomorphic types and administrative division of the gradient zones, and by gradient analysis and landscape pattern analysis methods, from two respects of landscape level and landscape type level the land-use landscape characteristics of different gradient zones during 13 years were studied. The results showed that: (1) from 1996 to 2009, land-use landscape fragmentation of gradient zone Ⅲ had maximum strength, so human activities had the biggest influence on it, dominant landscape of gradient zoneⅡwas quite obvious, so the structure stability of land-use landscape was the worst; (2) 1996—2009 land-use landscape matrix of every gradient was dry land, the proportion of paddy field increased, the proportion of woodland landscape of various gradient zones was significantly different, and the growth of construction landscape of every gradient was at the same level.
