Urbanization is the inevitable product of socio-economic development. Different levels of urbanization reflect different regional construction land intensive degrees. Only by coordinated development of them can socio-economic development to be promoted. Based on the socio-economic and regional construction land data from 1999 to 2009 in Tangshan, Hebei province, the year of 2001, 2005 and 2009 is selected as the evaluation period. The coupling coordination degree is employed to measure the coordination of ‘urbanization- intensive regional construction land’ system in different cities. At last, we used spatial autocorrelation analysis to reflect spatiotemporal characteristics of the coupling coordination degrees. The results indicate that:(1) coupling coordination improves steadily, most areas present spiral trend of coupling coordination degrees, and their types are from low to high class; (2) synchronous coordination classes are becoming more and more, indicating low to high synchronization. But there are some unstable and slow development regions; (3) coupling coordination degrees effect more obvious spatial aggregation. Central city shows high spatial aggregation, while the southeast coastal areas like Leting county and Luannan county show low special gathering.
