- Abstract:

The patch characteristics have been studied in the Hippophae rhamnoides project through the methods of principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis in the Soft Sandstone Area (SSA) from 1998 (one year before the begin year), 2003 (middle year), 2008 (the finish year), which showed that the main forms of landscape in the area like open vegetation, grassland, shrub, Hippophae rhamnoides and forest, had been gradually increasing while unused and sand decreasing. The total landscape system continuously develops into more vegetation coverage, more reasonable distribution, which is the main purpose of the Hippophae rhamnoides project.
