It is very important to evaluate the level of intensive agricultural land for regional sustainable development. This paper presents study on agricultural land intensive use with methods of documentation and theoretical analysis.Based on the land use situations of Fufeng County of Shaanxi Province from 1997 to 2006,the index system of agricultural land intensive use was constructed from 4 levels such as input intensity, utilization degree, output effect and continually utilization.Weight of different factors affecting agricultural land intensive use was defined based on the Delphi. Then the intensity score was calculated according to the synthetic index method of factors. The results showed that the intensive level of agricultural land use had been increasing from 1997 to 2006.However,the continued agricultural land use situation is worrying. In general, the evaluation of results was in line with local situation, which was practical and feasible.
