For fully understanding the spatial characteristics of gully erosion distribution over typical black hilly region of Northeast China and providing the basis for the conservation of water and soil work, this paper selected the hilly areas of Bin Country of Heilongjiang Province as the study area, took the SPOT5 remote sensing images as the data source, got the information of gully based on man-machine interaction, and analyzed the spatial pattern of the gully. The main conclusions were as follows: it was easier to form a hilly slope gully erosion on 5°~7° of the hilly slope; gully density showed the trend of slow decline after the first rapid rise accompanying the increasing of altitude, it was easier to form a hilly slope gully erosion in the middle and lower slopes; there was a big difference of gully density in different towns because of the differences on location and topographic feature, land use, sooner or later cultivation time and control measures.
