Abstract:: The purpose of the paper is to analyze the spatio-temporal evolution patterns and rules of urban land intensive utilization degree in He’nan province.Methods of fuzzy matter-element model and K average value cluster analysis were employed.The results showed that the overall level of urban land intensive utilization degree had risen from 1991 to 2006 in He’nan province.But the disparity of intensive utilization levels of arable land in each city had increased gradually.There were different change degree and distribution of urban land intensive utilization each research year in the province.Spatial distribution characteristics of urban land intensive utilization were quite obvious.It is concluded that there was the rising trend of urban land intensive utilization degree over time in He’nan province.But distributions of urban land intensive utilization were not the same in different years.
