Based on the 250 m resolution of MODIS-NDVI data from 2001 to 2008, as well as combining with landscape pattern software (FRAGASTAT), the characteristics of dynamic changes and spatial pattern of vegetation cover were analyzed in the past 8 years in this paper. Results show that vegetation cover is degrade trend of whole watershed nearly 8 years, while upper and high vegetation cover decreased, middle and lower vegetation cover increased. The analysis of the landscape pattern indicated that the number of patches decreased continuously, fragmentation decreased slightly, and the degree of diversity, equality and connectivity of landscape increased. The landscape pattern developed towards diversity and equality. It is obvious difference of fragmentation, complexity, stability, aggregation and distribution about spatial among landscape elements. The results above suggested that upper and middle vegetation cover have significant effect on spatial dynamic change of whole watershed.
