Abstract:: Urban ecosystem health is a comprehensive characteristic of urban ecosystem and is very important for urban sustainable development.According to the meaning of urban ecosystem health and the characteristics of urban ecosystem,an assessment index system of 45 factors from 7 aspects (including natural environment,built-up environment,social,economic,human health,biotic community health,sustainability of regional development),has been established for evaluation on urban ecosystem health.Applying the method of Entropy value to confirm the index weight,subjection degree matrix was established by fuzzy mathematical theory,and finally based on all these study,evaluation model was established.The results indicated: (1) From 1995 to 2004,Urumqi urban ecosystem health index are as follow: {0.421,0.475,0.359,0.312,0.375,0.406,0.415,0.377,0.447,0.457}.(2) Since 1998,health status has been improved,but a gap still existed between the current status and the expectation (0.681) in 2010.(3) Sustainability index of regional development has declined; the natural environment has not been well improved.The ecological and environmental protection is still caused the great concern.(4) Basic factors of urban ecosystem are imbalance between each other and health quality level is still low.(5) Empirical analysis of the urban ecosystem healthy assessment showed that the evaluation model is scientific and practical.
