Integrated watershed management is one of the main efficient measures to tackle environmental and socio-economic issues in watershed level. The study of the effects on local socio-economic system has gotten extensive attention and been an important research topic worldwide. Focused on the experience of sub-watershed management carried out in the Loess Plateau of China with World Bank loan, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the performances and impacts of the integrated sub-watershed management from the perspective of the rural economy and the households’ livelihood. The results showed that not only agricultural production condition was improved, but also participation in the project was the major factor for household income change. Some corresponding policies are also suggested in this paper.
