The UK Trust Fund China Watershed Management Project has introduced the concept of participatory approach into the planning and implementation of the Project, fully addressing the farmers’ role in the rural development, facilitating the capacity construction of villagers, respecting indigenous knowledge and guaranteeing the stakeholders interests. And the manifestation of concept of participatory approach is of great importance in demonstration under the times background of constructing the new socialist countryside and the comprehensive watershed management pattern can be referenced for further development of new socialist countryside.
