Abstract:: Based on remote sensing (RS), geographic information system (GIS) and globe positioning system (GPS), the land use/cover changes (LUCC) databases can be acquired. Firstly, the LUCC was interpreted according to the CBERS-02 image in 2005, in the light of the database interpreted from thematic mapper (TM) in 2000. Secondly, the interpreted result from CBERS-02 was validated in the field with GPS receiver and the database was precisely updated. Thus, the LUCC databases of Sichuan province from 2000 to 2005 were established. At last, the primary analysis was finished and the next eco-environment research work is pointed out at the same time.
