The soil organic matter and pH value were analyzed in the course of ecosystem succession in the Loess Plateau.The results are:the soil organic matter increases and pH value decrease by succession process in the same sere;the soil organic matte is higher in advanced stage than early stage,and pH value is lower in advanced stage than early stage;the soil organic matter decreases and pH value increase because of interrupted jamming,and the soil organic matter decreases distinctly and pH value increases distinctly in sub-climax ecosystem.
