This article aims at analyzing the relationship between sediment yield and different raindrop characteristics based on natural rainfall in Shenyang Region. Within natural rainfall, the runoff plots (8 m in length and 1 m in width) had been used to collect sedimnent samples, and the raindrop characteristics were calculated based on filter paper splash procedure. The relationship between sediment yield, raindrop quality and rainfall intensity, the kinetic energy of raindrops, raindrop median diameter, the maximum terminal velocity of raindrops were analyzed respectively by correlation analysis, gray relative analysis method and nearness degrees analysis. Results of correlation analysis and gray relative analysis were same, which followed the order:rainfall intensity > raindrop kinetic energy > raindrop mean diameter > maximum raindrop terminal velocity > raindrop quality; while the nearness degrees analysis showed that rainfall sediment yield on the slope was mostly affected by rainfall intensity, followed by raindrop kinetic energy and raindrop quality being came next; There was a power function relationship between sediment yield and rainfall intensity, D50, kinetic energy of raindrops respectively, and it was the same relation between the raindrop mean diameter of natural rainfall and rainfall intensity; raindrop mean diameter and raindrop quality were the main two influencing factors on the raindrop kinetic energy.
