Obstacle factor diagnosis on land ecological quality is the important guarantee for effective use and sustainable development of land resources. Xinxiang City was separated as northern ecological tourist area, urban development core area and ecological agriculture area based on the assessment of land ecological quality, and then obstacle factors of land ecological quality in each partition were diagnosed. The results were as follows. The places such as Yuanyang County, Fengqiu County and so on in ecological agriculture area and Huojia County in urban development core area were short of ecological infrastructures, and were evaluated as at serious level and more serious level with obstacle degree ranging from 14% to 22%. The places such as Muye District, Hongqi municipal district and so on in urban development core, of which obstacle degree of NPP was higher, ranging from 19% to 36%. The obstacle degree of rainfall in the growing season in the places such as northwest of ecological agriculture area, southwestern end of urban development core area was higher with a scope ranging from 17% to 22%. The obstacle degree of regional environment quality index ranged from 14% to 25%, being at serious level and more serious level, distributing in Xinxiang County and Fengquan District in urban development core area and Changyuan County in ecological agriculture area. Soil carbon accumulation levels of the places such as Hongqi District in urban development core area, northwest of ecological agriculture area and Yellow River beach were at serious level and more serious level, with an obstacle degree ranging from 9% to 17%. Perfection of ecological infrastructure, optimization of industrial structure, strengthening regional cooperation, combination of using and protection of land resource, are the main strategies to improve land ecological quality of the study area.
