With the accelerated development of industrialization, urbanization, agricultural modernization, the gap between supply and demand of construction land is widening. However, it is very useful to carry out rural settlement consolidation for improving the efficiency of urban and rural land use, increasing arable land, easing the contradiction between land supply and demand, optimizing space allocation. Different people have the different recognition and attitude towards rural settlement consolidation. Therefore, we surveyed the households to explore the factors affecting the willingness of rural settlement consolidation by using structural equation model and binary Logistic model. The results show that the willingness of land consolidation is only 41.5% in the study area. In the five latent variables, personal characteristics of the farmers and other variables have a negative effect upon the willingness. Farmer differentiation, economic status and housing conditions have a positive effect. The exogenous variables such as income and occupation have the significant positive influence. However, the age, the blood relationship with their neighbors etc, have a significant negative impact. It is concluded that the government should help farmers live diversifying, safeguard their legitimate rights, explore diversified arrangement mode, avoid one-size-fits-all policy, explore the rural residential land market, and protect the traditional architecture and landscape during rural settlement consolidation.
