Characteristics of soil and water loss in the Guigang-Yulin branch project area of the second West-East Gas Pipeline Project were investigated. Based on the characteristics of soil and water loss in different sub-project areas, vegetation restoration measures were designed to meet the requirement of soil and water conservation, while afforestation and beautification were taken into account as well. The design principles were giving priority to the ecosystem, adjusting measures to local conditions, and matching species with the site.
