We took Bazhong county located in the northeast of Sichuan Province as example and carried out the research on the content and distribution of soil selenium by using on-site sampling and laboratory analysis testing methods to promote the reasonable selection of dominant crop and the modern agriculture development. The results show that the contents of soil selenium varied according to the soil types, land utilization types, and soil tillage systems. The contents of Selenium in different soil types decrease in the order of yellow brown soil > loess soil > purple soil. The contents of selenium in different land utilization types based on loess soil are other land use > farmland > vegetable land. The contents of selenium in different land utilization types based on yellow brown soil are vegetable land > other land use > forest land > farmland > dry land > orchard land. The contents of selenium in different land utilization types based on purple soil are farmland > orchard land > dry land > vegetable land > other land use. The contents of selenium in different soil tillage system based on loess soil are dry farming land > water irrigation land. The contents of selenium in different soil tillage systems based on yellow brown soil are water irrigation land > dry farming land > dry-wet land. The contents of Selenium in different soil tillage systems based on purple soil are dry-wet land > dry farming land. The contents of selenium in soil profiles are Tongjiang > Nanjiang > Bazhou > Pingchang. The Se content in Bazhong is 0.165 μg/g which is lower than the national average value. The potatoes industial belt in Tongjiang, the honeysuckle industrial belt in Nanjiang, the vegetables industrial belt in Nanjiang, and the tea industrial belt in Nanjiang are the four selenium-rich industrial belts. The potato, the honeysuckle and the tea are the selenium-rich dominant crops in Bazhong.
