Leaching of phosphorus (P) from soils is the potential environmental hazard. Understanding transfer characteristic of P in the red sandy soils is important to sewage agricultural utilization. In this paper, sewage was used by the ways of broadcast and hole application with different types and application amounts in the field, and the phosphorus transfer characteristic was investigated on the 225th day after sewage application. The results showed that (1) the Kcl-P and Olsen-P accumulated in the whole profile, and the phosphorus concentration decreased with the increase of soil depth both in broadcast and hole application; (2) the phosphorus transfer was affected by the sewage application amounts and application methods, the concentrations of Kcl-P and Olsen-P in the profile increase with the increase of application amounts, and the phosphorus accumulated in deeper soil after broadcast application than the hole treatments; (3) Olsen-P accumulating between 0-30 cm accounted for over 60% of the whole profile after broadcast application.
