This paper measured soil nutrients in 5 planted pure forests of in Wuling Mountains of Hebei. The effects of different forest types on soil pH, organic matter, nutrients and available nutrients were studied, and soil nutrients were analyzed by principal component analysis. The results showed that soil pH values in 5 different kinds of forests were weak acidity, the range was 4.61~6.31; soil organic matter in different layers decreased in the order of 0—10 cm > 10—20 cm > 20—40 cm, means of organic matter are 2.53~9.60 g/kg; soil total phosphorus contents were 0.20~0.70 g/kg; mean total soil nitrogen contents are 2.38~3.45 g/kg; soil available potassium contents are 67.54~169.88 mg/kg; soil available phosphorus contents are 0.84~6.84 mg/kg; soil alkali solution nitrogen contents are 65.68~147.88 mg/kg. Evaluation of soil nutrients in different forest types of comprehensive effect of Betula pure forest is maximum, 1.122; Larix pure forest is minimum, -0.819. In general, soil nutrient contents decrease with the increase of soil depth. Soil nutrient concentrations are in coniferous forests than those in broad-leaved forests.
