Wangcang County is the area with the most frequent landslide in Sichuan Province. The evolution of the landslides in this area is very special because of the unusual geological conditions and topographical characteristics, hence it’s difficult to obtain the accurate result for the traditional assessment approaches. This research selected nine development factors of slope which contain the lithology, tectonic, inclination of contact surface, groundwater types, and the structure of the slope, and then the character functions was introduced to describe the influence modes of these factors, finally the landslide hazards assessment model was established based on the development factors of slope. The result can be more accurately reflect the distribution characteristics of the landslides in Wangcang County, and there was some practical significance to landslide prevention work of the study area.
