A Study on effects of different Arkadolith new soil modifier application rate(0, 4%, 8%, 12%, 16%) on main physical properties in sandy soil was conducted in laboratory. The results showed that the soil bulk density and specific weight of soil decreased, but the porosity and void ratio increased. Compared to sandy soil, the content of sand decreased, the content of 0.05~0.01 mm sand decreased by 12.5%~18.3%, the content of clay particle, physical clay increased by Arkadolith application,<0.01 mm physical clay increased by 3.3~4.0 times. The amount of >5 mm and >0.25 mm of cluster, for example, increased 28.84%~66.67% and 28.21%~63.49%, respectively, indicating that it has improved soil structure. It also showed the improvement effect of soil water holding capacity and standard of water supply, besides, holding capacity increased with soil modifier application rate. The results show that Arkadolith could effectively improve soil physical properties and enhance water-retention capacity.
