Abstract:: The land ecological security evaluation is the important component of the ecological security evaluation, is also the current land sustainable use research forefront topic, and it is vitally significant to research. The purpose of this paper is to use relevant data from 2001 to 2007 to study the land ecological security in Poyang Lake ecological economic zone by employing matter-element model. The results show that: (1) the land ecological security state in Poyang Lake ecological economic zone had been dropped from 2001 to 2005; (2) from 2005 to 2007, the land ecological security state had been improved, from the unsafe condition to the critically safe condition. The result of the research has proved that it is feasible to evaluate regional land ecological security by using matter-element model, and this method can be used as land ecological security evaluation research new method.
