Abstract:: The occurrence of problems of land-use balances,is mostly driven by economic development. The patterns of land use are subject to the coupling functions among different land-use types. Based on historical statistics data, documents and future economic anticipation, this paper analyzes the land use balance trajectory and the problems based on analyzing the land use balance path. The issues of land uses are mainly focused on serious waste of arable land, nonstandard rural land use, inefficient land use, irrational land use, increasing difficulty in tapping the potential reserve, highlights of the ecological loss, etc. To solve the above problems, with the new environment for economic development and policy guidance, an incentive mechanism should be established, and specification of collective, cultivation, and standardizing the tangible land market, the preparation of a scientific land use planning are necessary for contributing to a balance of land use in Chongqing.
