Soil and water conservation function of main forest types of ecological protection forest in Kaihua county of Zhejiang province were evaluated. Rate of canopy interception, shrub-grass layer coverage, litter coverage, litter thickness, maximal water holding value of litter layer, soil steady infiltration, soil non capillary porosity and soil erodibility k were selected as evaluation index, and comprehensive evaluation method of water conservation function was used. The results show that the desending order of soil and water conservation function was coniferous-broadleaved mixed forest>Quercus acutissima>Phyllostachys heterocycla>Pinus massoniana>Cunninghamia lanceolata; the soil and water conservation function of coniferous-broadleaved mixed forest belongs to stronger grade, Phyllostachys heterocycla, Quercus acutissima, Cunninghamia lanceolata, Pinus massoniana were middle.
