- Abstract:

Based on detailed survey data of 1and use from 1997 to 2006 in Jiuquan city, Gansu province, the characteristics of land use changing were analyzed during the period, and the human driving factors of land-use change was discussed. In the background of MATLAB, the study focuses on human dimension. Qualitative and quantitative analysis indicate that the dominant driving forces include population growth, the development of urbanization, agricultural modernization, economic development and policy. Population is continuing factor, policy plays a leading role in land-use change in Jiuquan city.
