In this paper, based on the extracted relief from DEM data of Guizhou Province and use of the interpreted results of TM data, the heterogeneity of landscape pattern with relief in Guizhou province was studied by using GIS and Fragstats. The results showed that in Guizhou Province, heterogeneity of landscape pattern with the relief is significant. In the low relief area, because the human activities is frequent and strength of changing the natural landscape is great, there were large differences in the shape of the landscape, landscape was more fragmented and diverse, especially in hilly area, distribution of each type is complex and fugitive. However, it’s diversity is rich, the connectivity between each kind of landscape is significant. In high relief area, landscape types are more single, predominance of the landscape is more obvious, structure is relatively simple, and connectivity between landscapes is poor. In addition, there are strong differences in the interior of each kind of landscape in every relief zone. In low relief zones, the shape difference between patches of several kinds of landscape is obvious, such as woodland and grassland, the connectivity and aggregation of them is lower; but patches shape of settlement and dry land is more structured, the connectivity is high and aggregation is better. In high relief zones, patches shape of woodland, grassland and rocky desertification is well structured, the fragmentation is less, connectivity is better and landscape layout is more uniform, while the patches distribution of paddy land and dry land is scattered, and the internal connectivity of landscape is poor.
