In comparison with traditional the ridge along slope, benefit of soil and water conservation in the process of harnessing a sloping farmland in the Black Soil region of Northeast China was carried out. The results indicate that benefity of soil and water conservation was the best in the level terrace of different measures, and the value were 70.64% and 77.61%. We can put the following items as such orders: level terrace>buffer strip>contour cultivation>the ridge along slope, and effects on soil conservation was better than water conservation, the degree of soil erosion on contour cultivation and the ridge along slope were mild, level terrace and buffer strip were weak. Soil bulk density, soil water storage effective capacity, and steady infiltration rate were indicators of the size of water conservation functions of soil, we can put the following items as such orders: buffer strip>level terrace>contour cultivation>the ridge along slope.
