Based on the related studies at home and abroad in sediment, this paper introduced briefly the main pollutants and sources of sediment in wetland, and expatiated ecological risk assessment methods of sediment such as Hakanson Potential Ecological Risk Index (PERI),SEM/AVS,the Sediment Quality Guidelines (SQGs) and etc.The paper reviewed the main sediment remediation methods of physical, chemical, and bioremediation, and had paid special attention to the progress in the microbial,phyto- and phyto-microbial remediation of contaminated sediment. At last, the prospect and thoughts were put forward in order to offer scientific evidences for the risk assessment and bioremediation of polluted water and sediment.
