With 4 series of dynamic data of Kaifeng’s land use ranging from 1990 to 2010, Costanza’s and Gaodi Xie’s formulae and coefficients of ecological system’s service value are employed to carry out a quantitative analysis on the ecological system’s service value of Kaifeng. It shows that: the ecological system’s service value drops down from 5.171 5×109 yuan to 5.029 5×108 yuan i. e. decreasing with an annual rate of 0.137%. Land use change causes the ecological system’s service value shrinking down gradually, by 7.101 2×106 yuan each year. The result proves that for the city of Kaifeng, though more economic benefit is achieved, the ecological benefit is being undermined. Therefore, in order to increase the ecological benefit of land use simultaneously with social-economic development for Kaifeng, appropriate land use planning, rational land use types, and a sustainable land use mode should be taken into account with close scrutiny.
