Stream as an important place used by the residents, plays important role in developing rural economy and building ecological environment protection in suburb of Beijing. According to invest the stream use models from residents live along the three main streams, and on the basis of knowing related policies and local economic development, the authors and indigenous discussed together the possible change trends for stream use. The results show: fishing, damming, building reservoirs, cultivation, aquiculture and poultry, irrigation, tap-water, tourist and excavating grait from stream bed are nine current stream uses in Huairou rural area. Under the background of different folk culture and the motivation of new rural construction, traditional irrigation, poultry and cultivation will be continued while fishing will degenerate. Tourist will be reinforced for its high benefit and excavating grait from stream bed will be abolished. Every kind of stream use has relation to the folk culture, whether it will be developed depends on its help to improve residents living standard and rural economic development.
