Based on investigating the root distribution and canopy characteristics of Salix Psammophila in mobile sand dune in Maowusu Hinterland, the results show that there are some differences about the growth status of the Salix psammophila in different environment. After Salix psammophila was buried in sand, the sand-burying wattles become to the root, and bourgeon the new adventitious root.So that effective increase the depth, scope and biomass in the ground layer of Salix psammophila. Then it enhanced the capability that the root system absorbs water and nutrient, which lead to the significant increase of covered area and biomass on the overground layer contrasted with no sand-burying Salix psammophila.
