Based on the analysis of the groundwater flow movement characteristics in Hami Basin,Xinjiang, the paper discussed the different salt transport mode on the soil profile adopted shaft well irrigation and drainage project and resulted ecological and environmental problems. In natural state, salt moves upwards. On the contrary, salt moves downwards in shaft well irrigation area. After long time, the environment will be changed. In fact, groundwater resources should be investigated in shaft well irrigation region. The substantial developed capacity of groundwater can’t go beyond the guarantee develop capacity. Thus, the activities of human being won’t bring the side-effect to environment.
