Effects of different utilization model on soil water redistributions, runoff and nutrition loss on red sloping lands of south China were studied. The results showed that: ① Changes of soil water content were related to rainfall significantly in red sloping land of different utilization model; Soil water content ranged as fallow land>farming land>tea garden.② Runoff of farming land fluctuated greatly and the amount of runoff were significant higher than fallow land and tea garden, and there were no difference on runoff between fallow land and tea garden.③ The amount of loss nutrition of farming land was the highest, and the main nutrition loss was nitrogen. From soil water keeping, low amount nutrition loss and to get economic benefit, the better utilization model of red sloping land of south China would be tea garden.
