The scientific understanding of the spatial-temporal evolution pattern of land ecological security is the significant part of regional ecological security and ecological civilization construction. The temporal and spatial evolution pattern of land ecological security in Nanchang City was analyzed scientifically based on land use change. With 3S technology and PSR model were used to conduct the city’s evolution index system of land security, we synthetically used AHP and entropy method to determine the weight of each index. The dynamic evaluation and subarea analysis of land ecological security in Nanchang City were carried out from the perspective of administrative divisions and the grid scale. The results show that: (1) with respect to time differentiation, since 2000 years, the land ecological security in Nanchang City had changed from critical level to mainly relatively safe level over the past 15 years; with the rise of green strategy as the main driving force, the best improvement land ecological security situation had been witnessed during 2010—2015; (2) with respect to spatial differentiation, in 2000, the land ecological security was low in the north and middle west of Nanchang City while it was high in the middle south; in 2010, it was relatively higher in the middle east, and it was relatively stable in the southwest and northeast; and in 2015, the land ecological security of Nanchang was overall higher while it was low in the north center and southwest; (3) Nanchang County, Jinxian County, Anyi County, Wanli District and Qingshanhu District are the ecological balanced areas; and most areas of East Lake, Xihu District, Qingyunpu District and the north of Xinjian County are located in the ecologically restored areas. Different countermeasures are put forward according to different partition results. The conclusions can provide a reference for the construction of regional ecological civilization and the comprehensive utilization of land space.
