Abstract:: Coordination rule of urban settlement environment and economy is an important way to achieve sustainable urban development, an important symbol to measure the level of urban economic development, social progress and cultural development. The level of coordination impacts the health of residents directly. By building the indicator system of coordination of settlement environmental and economic development, related models are used to analyzie the degree of coordination of living environment and economic development in 2006, 2008 and 2011 through space and time in cities along the Yellow River in Ningxia economic zone, which is aimed at finding problem of uncoordinated during the development of settlement environment and economic development in municipalities or counties. The results show that relationship between settlement environment and economic development is better in northern and central part than that in the southern in the study area on the spatial scale. And the coordinated development situation of settle environment and economic development has a trend of decreasing year by year. Research results strive to provide relevant reference for construction of modern urban settlement agglomerations, which highlights are prosperity, harmonious and livable, charm,in cities along the Yellow River in Ningxia economic zone.
