By analyzing on nature, society and economy conditions as well as distribution characteristics of sand source in the lower Lhasa River valley, we are a series of comprehensive renovation scheme put forward to harness sand sources, mainly including dredging channel, planting farmland shelter-forest network, constructing arbor-bush-herb shelter forest and shifting sand stabilization, this scheme will not only control blown-sand threat, and improve local ecological environment; at the same time, also lay the strong foundation for enlarging Lhasa city space and effectively utilizing local resource, embody a sustainable thought on how to make comprehensive renovation in high cold valley region.
