Abstract:: Since 1990s, along with the more and more serious problems concerning population, resources and environment, land use /land cover change is becoming the international research frontier. The researches of land use change deal with different spatio-temporal scales, they are increasingly turning from global dimension towards regional demension reaearch. Taking Shanghuang experimental area as an example, the driving forces of LUCC are analysed, the results show that increase of population and the factor of policy are the main factor which drive the land use change of Shanghuang experimental area.
