Based on the single element atomic absorption method, a simultaneous determinnation method for heavy metals was built using atomic absorption spectrum apparatus with Type-VARIAN SpectrAA220FS. . The part of heavy metal content, for example, nickle, zinc, lead and cadmium in substrate sludge at Chengdu Minjiang segment, was determined. As a result, the distribution regularity and change tendency in substrate sludge can be got. The method is a very useful, a quick and convenient one for hydro-environmental protection and management.
