Constructing first-class highway in mountainous area inevitably to carry on deep cuts and high fills-in, which can form massive high steep roadbeds side slope or the slope of embankment.Because the gneiss original geology environment balance is broken, objectively created geological condition for collapse and slide. The project practice indicated that the constructed highway in our country in mountainous area is nearly "does not have the road without collapse, not to have the road without break down", in the rainy season, the road soil slip, the landslide is specially more common. How therefore correctly knew the the geological condition mountainous area road side slope, the unique feature, forming mechanism and the correct appraisal of side slope stability, has become the geological project question in our country mountainous area first-class highway construction.Take a highway side slope as an example, the combination methed of "the gology and the project" is elaborated in detail, the entire process stability of this side slope is appraised, and based on this, the effective government measure is proposed. The result indicated, after the government project implementation, the side slope stability has met the first-class highway design requirements.
