The potential effects on environment and ecology imposed by hydroelectric engineering construction are discussed in detail. The reasons why some environmental problems will produce during the period of construction are analyzed and other corresponding prevention methods and measures are put forward as well. At the same time, in order to reduce environmental and ecological side effects imposed by projects constructing to the minimum and make such projects serve the people, the planning, design, construction and operation condition of hydroelectric projects are also discussed.
