Sheep raising has a long history in northern Shaanxi and is a leading industry in husbandry, which has great influence on ecological environment and economy.By analyzing the effect of closing hillsides to ban grazing, converting slope farmland into forest and grassland, and China’s accession into WTO on sheep raising, it is draw a conclusion that sheep raising in northern Shaanxi should abandon traditional way of grazing, and develop highly-effective facilities to rear sheep.
