- Abstract:
- There is a dense population in Jialingjiang catchment. Since irrational land use and serious soil erosion, ecological environment in this region is fragile. This situation not only affects the development of industries and agriculture, but also restricts the Three Gorges project construction and the process of ecological development because of the large sediment transport.Soil loss and its causes in this catchment area are analyzed,the effective countermeasures and suggestions on promoting sustainable development are also provided.
